Its now three years since the bushfires ripped through here and destroyed about 60% of the Park… the bush is regenerating slowly as most of NSW has more or less been drought declared since then for most of the time. I have photographed this river annually including 2003 just before the fires had us evacuate Thredbo. I have a couple of spots that I use as reference spots to track the changes this isn’t one of them but well …science and art.. photography go back a ways.. who was it that said? “Photography the bastard child of science left on the doorstep of art” beauty exists in destruction I guess the thing that saddens me most is that I will not live long enough to see it back as climax vegetation
Yes, beauty exists also in distruction. I see beauty here in this simple spot that must recall so many memories. I love the tiny wild flowers. They are a wonderful sign of regenerating life. Those fires you have there yearly are disastrous and a big pain. Sad story.... hopefully with no repetition ever, especially not for Thredbo Lovely photo. Regards - Emgy
