About This is a 10 pound Rainbow Trout. We call them Triploids. The eggs are put under 10,000 pounds pressure and that changes the chromosomes to XXX. These fish are pen fish commercially raised. They are planted and some escape from the pens. Since they are sterile all they do is eat and grow, they never spawn. Their flesh is very red and they are excellent to eat. I placed a dollar bill so you can guage the size of these fish. Most are 6 to 8 pounds but there has been several caught over 25 pounds.
