What is he? That is a fierce looking critter! Your photo is well composed, with good colors, light and sharp details.

Excellent lighting, Bill, the flash really did the trick to give you a great exposure. Very good clarity and detail on the little monster! Dave.

No Zoo..just south florida. You see these guys sitting in the sun on guard rails and tree branches. Was rare to find him in the grass. The light was very harsh, had to under expose, I even tried the small built in flash to fill. I did not have my 580 strobe with me. Not really sure of the name or type. I think that lots of people buy small animals for pets and with they get too big they turn them out into the wild. Thanks for your comments on this image. Bill

hi, is this a type of komodo? Beautiful patterns of nature!....like the shadows of his spinal fringes and the dof is good...the harsh light must have been difficult to deal with from that perspective...was he just hangin' out at the lake,or is this at a zoo?...Stanley Park in Vancouver,BC has a zoo and they let their large komodos and some other animals just roam the open grounds....regards,gayle
