I like the idea behind this but a couple elements of your photo detract a bit. The first thing that stands out to me is the washed out look to your shadows. I've seen this type of look come about from using the Shadow/Highlight function of PS or not applying a curves adjustment. Perhaps one of these two things can account for this with your image. Tough to tell. Lastly the tree trunk on the bottom right edge blends in some, but none the less pulls my eye away from the heart of your images focus. I would work with this file a little more to perfect it. The good news is both of my observations can be fixed in Photoshop or an equivalent.
