About I have so many pink flowers on my hard drive! I figured I would never post them all seperately, so I decided to make a collage.
I messed around with placement until my eyes were crossed, so here you have what I came up with. I'm sure there are many variations....this is just one. :o)

Hi, Susie. I'm sorry I missed this one, a lovely collage. Great way to tidy up a lot of pink flower photos... any one of which could have stood on its own. I've been very busy and just started uploading for the first time in over a week. The weather is looking up. Spring is coming! Hurrah!!

Very beautiful Susie. Would make a wonderful poster sized print for a little girls room. Nice placement and number of photos. Not too many so as you don't want to look at every single photo. Iv'e see some collages that just were to loaded with pictures. You seem to have picked the right balance. Very colorfull and delightful to look at.

Thanks Susie, I tried this back awhile ago with some drag racing photos and did it trial and error method. The grid layer idea sounds like it would work, then allow you to slide the image 'under' the grid. PS has so many different tools I am sure there is many ways to achive similar results. I did mine with full size files in case I wanted to print the final results, old computer had tough time with that many megs...Thanks for taking the time to share! Bill C.

Susie OConnor Susie OConnor   {K:34798} 2/23/2006
Hi Bill,
I messed around with sizing these and finally came up with this idea:
I created a new canvas @ 1024x1024 and put lines on it to create the grid.
Then I opened each photo and cropped it to basically where I wanted it.
Then went to image/resize/resize image in PS and changed the larger of the sizes on the photo to 500 ppi. Sometimes I was lucky and it turned out square, sometimes I had to recrop to make it square.
Then I pulled each one onto the grid and resized to fit the square.
Just my way, there is probably one WAY easier. )
Thanks for the visit. Hope that made sense?
Susie

Oh wow! Perfect idea Susie! They all look fabulous and why not put them together like this? Not sure there'd be a better order to place them in, although I do like Ann's idea of a calendar.

I've actually seen some photographers in NZ and Australia who print their florals onto 4"x4" canvas blocks and then mount them on boards in various combinations and sell as one piece. They make obscene amounts of money doing this!

Just another idea, as a sideline to your cafe, that is... :)

Cheers
Rina

Good composition! :) Pretty flowers! Great DOF in some of them.. I have observed 1 thing while capturing bright colored flowers.. it's very diff. to get the right exposure for them! along with the right focus! But you've managed to capture these pretty well! I specifically liked the 1st, the SE & SW one's.. considering exposure.. clarity.. colours & overall composition! Good work!

Regards.

CHALLENGE via Ann Nida:

Please disregard her idea and think of this ... :))

12 Florals ...
One for each hour ...
Two stems with one for the hour and minute hands ...

Each image should be circular in framing ...
Now ... what about the background for the face of the clock ... ?

Time is running ...

God I hate people that copy me!:)), but not bad. My suggestion(s) though:

The pixel width between each frame should be narrower ...

The lower border for the title in reverse typesetting is too large but the underlining is good ...

Therefore both of the above would allow for a larger display.

Don't forget also that you can flip images so you can have them facing any way you want ... Yes/No?

P.S. Because I am color blind I'm not so sure they are all pink so I guess this piece is for guys also, so now do a blue one to be safe for us males ... :))

Ann Nida Ann Nida   {K:45248} 2/22/2006
...and here we have a gorgeous 16 month calendar of beautiful pink flowers. You could call it "16 Months in Pink" or remove 4 and call it "A Year In Pink". :) This a wonderful collage Susie and the black background framing really compliments the pinks. Super job. Well done.

Cheers - Ann :)
