Jim:

Ugh. yeah. I took about 600+ shots and only about five are good. Not very effecient use of time on my part.

Thanks Michael.... I'll have to keep an eye out for your macros. I'm learning as I go along. It is a lot tougher than it looks to get a successful image.

Hey Jim:

I'm trying to take these abstracts as well with an old 1965 macro lens and the DOF is shallow. My comment is a reflection on what I am trying to accomplish as well. This is a really great shot and dreamlike with stunning color.

Michael thanks for taking the time to comment on my image. I left the depth of field shallow intentionally. Also the degree of magnification lent itself to a very limited depth of field any how. That being said my aim was to expose the image to get detail, but to also let the lack of detail allow the eye to focus on the subtle lines of the petals. A tough balance to achieve. Thanks again for your comment.

Jim:

It is a good time to get in close to our flowery friends at this time of year - I shot quite a bit as well in the middle of a really bleak weekend.

Overall, good strong color and abstraction. Really close to the subject, but from a distance I think it may all wash without a focal point.

Jim: Beautiful, with flowing lines merging with gradations of color, all making one simple but striking image. Lighting is superb, giving interesting and visually elegant shades for the eye to explore. Hats off! Anson

Really nice different yellow tone and that from the good use of lighting. The only thing, it would be nice if there was more details or texture. Keep up the good work.
