My gosh, is that all you can shoot is snow? You'd think you lived in Canada or something. (LOL)
There are times I wish I lived in places like this that get buried... but then, we get an inch here and I remember, oh yeah, this is why I live in the south.
I really like the warm light here on these curves. I won't even begin to say what I see in this, especially the bottom two-thirds of the photo. Very neat picture!
And thanks for your crop suggestions on "Towers". About the time you wrote that, I was cropping another picture from the same journey and chose to use a tighter crop. You can see it at http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1077562
I also might try and crop the towers photo to your suggestion and see how it looks. If I do and post it, I'll let you know.
Hi Dennis. Yes it was quite late in the day when I shot this... maybe a half hour or so before the sun went behind the ski hill. I set the in-camera white balance on a patch of the most white snow I could see, as I didn't have anything else to balance it with and I wanted to get something different than the typical blue shades of snow... I thought this one came close to "realistic" colours, but maybe just a bit on the warm side? Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary
You have many wonderful snow images but this one captured my attention, it makes the snow seem warm and inviting. Did you shoot this late in the day? The shadows and warm hue of the snow suggests a magic hour shot. Snow is tricky to capture well with a camera but you have obviously gotten the hang of it.
