About This is a white flower spider with it's dinner. The white dots on the bee are pollen from the Morning Glory bloom. It was a difficult photo as it was a windy afternoon and also I had to handhold the camera as the flower was in a difficult position. This was the best of about twenty that I took. Built in flash, 1/200 sec. F22.

All I can say is, WOW!! This is a magnificent macro, Ann. Much better than the run of the mill. What a great capture. The colors are so vibrant. Well done!!

Amazing clarity and detail, with superb colour definition. The white monster looks almost artificial, against the vivid colours of the bee, and morning glory petals. 7.
Excellent! especially for a hand-held shot.

Excellent capture (and for the W.F.spider-monster, also!)

Thanks very much for the comment, Ann.
Colin.

This is wild, Ann. It's an amazing capture of nature at work, but in addition you've got these fabulous colours! Can't say I've ever seen a spider like that, nor do I want to particularly...

Thanks, Joggie. As you say, I'm a bit limited with the built in flash. I did try different exposure compensations with both the camera and flash, but as the spider was right inside the flower and I had to get pretty close it was a tad difficult. It was either not bright enough or too bright or too blurry. The next time I will be better prepared, I hope. Thanks for your advice. Cheers, Ann.

Beautiful colours and a great angle. Well done Ann. Its a pity about the slight camera shake and the white of the spider thats slightly overexposed. I know - A very difficult one to get right, especially with the huge difference in colour temperature between the spider and the bee/flower. Exposure compensation by about minus F0.7 to F1.0 could have prevented that. The darker areas could then be lightend up in PS. You should also see if you can get some kind of diffuser to soften the light from the built-in flash which gives a very harsh light (or get a ringflash - start saving!)

I can see that the macro lense have given you a new energy and can see the improvement with every frame you upload. Keep it coming!

Thanks Phil. I first saw this a couple of months ago. Amazing. Something else amazing, check out the photo Joggie Van Staden uploaded tonight. Talk about coincidence. Cheers, Ann.

It's pitty that bee is eaten but nice shot. Wish light was better the shot wouldn't look like taken in studio.

Ann, what a fantastic capture! I was unaware of this danger to bees. You learn something every day! LOL

Cheers
