Simple and yet complex. I appreciate the rich color, fresh perspective, and composition that you have achieved in this unique still life. This shot reaches out and grabs you. Nice work.

Nice image. You've used a creative camera position placing the subject on the bottom of the picture space. What I also like may be made up in my mind. It seems as if someone gave you this wonderful flower. Lacking a vase, you've put it in a water bottle. Then captured the moment.

Other critiques have covered most of the good points. I'ld like to add that the darker ball like shape of the bottle plays well against the circular darkness around the flower and on the center of the flower.

ooo I don't know what to suggest for improvement Andrew, this is a great composition, you have nice saturated color and good DOF. You did good.

cheers,

Very nice. Bottle is a tad dark and the top edges a bit hot, but I like the unique angle, color and use of wide angle to make the flower slightly odd shaped.

Hi Andrew, exceptionally good colours and tonal range in this photo. Very well captured. I also like the gradient in the base of the vase; very subtle. Also, the angle is a good idea, it's not a commonly used one, which really adds to the photo, IMO. The DoF is also spot on, as it creates the feeling of height. Not much to critique here, everything just adds up to a very fine photo.

Cheers,

Hugo

Great exposure and color. The DOF is beautifully used and I love the color on the table? A great presentation. Good work!

What a great capture Andrew! The soft light looks perfect for this shot, and the combination of colors makes a pleasant image to look at. Razor sharp focus on the flower and soft focus on the bottom of the bottle. I like the angle you chose.

good shot!

I'm just so turned-on by the adroit and original creation of space and volume here.
