About photo taken Mar 2006 in early evening under diminishing twilight of the male Northern Cardinal. I have been trying unsuccessfully to grab a shot of this beautiful specimen and his lovely mate. Each day the pair show up in my backyard to feed under our feeder, same time of day, (dusk) w/not quite enough daylight to get an acceptable grab. This day, this shot was the best I could do thus far. I thought I would share it with others, although it has it's technical problems.

Love these birds. They were everywhere in Texas and we never get them here in the Colorado Rockies. I guess that means we won't get bored by them. Nice shot!

Thanks for visiting Dave. This distance was outside the effective range of my limited flash gear. I also try not to "flash-off" the wildlife when at all possible. This pair visit rarely, and they observe a strict feeding schedule. So, I take what they're willing to give, on their terms. -john

Estupendo contraste de colores y una delicada avecita... de intenso rojo. Felicitaciones!

A nice capture of the cardinal under those conditions! Have you tried using flash to brighten it up a bit?
Dave.
