I'm going to take what Nicole and Edward said, and go one step further and suggest that this is about half of a really stunning image. I know, I myself have taken many pictures of amazing skies and wished there was something more worthy in the foreground. I think without that, you've got a nice background... but it's not a complete image unto itself, at least not enough to be a high-rated shot on a forum like this with so many great images and so many great photographers. Yes, this is a great sky, but until you put something equally spectaular in front of it, I'm afraid that to me, it's just an unused backdrop.

Great shot Matthew, however I am going to have to somewhat agree with Nicole’s comment. As per her suggestion, I am usually a big fan of using trees/branches and other such natural distractions to add character to the image, but I feel in this case there just isn’t enough to do anything more than detract from the colours of the sky and they end up being more burden than benefit to the quality of the shot. I think it would be a much stronger image if you were to crop out the left-hand edge and eliminate these leaves/branches. As well, I am not sure on your feelings/abilities regarding digital manipulation, but I think it would have been even more beneficial to the overall image had you blackened in the three (3) white dots that appear to be lights along the bottom. But merely suggestions to slightly improve what is in my opinion an already superb shot.

brilliant sky, I think you did fine. my suggestions for improvement is look for interesting tree branches to siloette and frame the sky.
