A beautiful photo, Nick. It has some of the feel, especially with the reflection, of a painting by Turner, one of my favorite artists. Well done!! Steve

Oh, this is an easy technique, Giuseppe. You make only one spot measurement of light at some very bright part, hold the metering and compose and shoot. Since the brains of the camera think that it is very bright everywhere, you get a very short exposition time and/or very small apperture. Which of course makes anything that is not so bright to be captured nearly black. That's all.
Try that and you will have some unexpected results!
Thanks a lot for your nice comments!

Nick I think that today (or yesterday) you have posted a splendid portfolio about nature. (How did you close the sunset in those side black curtains?) Bravissimo!

Just wanted to try the method of our friend Pan, you know - mystery and suggestion. Hope I managed to come close to his technique.
Thank you very much, Nessa!
