About Or in this case Albert channel/canal... dug out into the sandstone hills that are a part of the south of Limburg and this adjacent part of Belgium... Again proof that not all of the Netherlands is flat... LOL!!

Hi Petal, I like the idea, and the way to depict Ike and Tina's tune in this way. Strong composition, too, and an interesting theme. Nice diptych! In the composition and theme, I think this photo has a bit more to offer than the next one, yet the POV in the next is more refreshing and creative, I think. Good stuff!

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks very much for the tip/comment!!
I will surely take a look, but I'm using a simple point and shoot (however I can set the exposure plus and minus 2EV) and then for the other 'problem' my PS skills (or lack of... LOL) so if it will ever come to a HDR image on my part... miracles do happen or so they say... ;-D

Have you tried HDR (high dynamic range) imaging? It's a really fantastic method that enables you to capture both a deep shadow detail and a highlight detail. Using a tripod you shoot a couple of different exposure photos (2EV apart) to cover the whole dynamic range of the scene. Then you combine these images with a PS CS, Photomatrix or some other HDR enabled software. Using an advanced tone mapping you then 'collapse' the 32bit/chanel HDR image to 8bit while preserving all of the original detail. The results can be fantastic!
Take a look at:

Have fun!

You have been out and about quite a little recently. A beautiful sky to go with everything, Don.

Are these real hills, Petal? LoL;) Very nice composition and a good contrast between the beautiful sky and the slope at the right.

Very nice image Petal. I like the strong angular on the right balanced by the lesser one on the left. (is this the highest mountain in the Netherlands? If not, what is?
