Hi James, looking at this image in the CC area leaves me a bit speechless. I guess it's ok, but with the very limited information you provide, I can't help wondering what you intended to achieve with this. It's heavily manipulated, and I think that's doing more damage to the image than good, yet it makes me curious, which I always consider a good thing about any image. The vague profile of the face does, with some fantasy, look like something hidden under the ice, but I think the subtlety is rather missing from this photo to really pull it off. If it's an artistic expression, I think you also come quite close, but that also evokes questions, whether the effect is used as a tool to achieve / create a look, or if the effect is a goal on its own.
I realise this all sounds fairly negative. On a more positive approach, I think it's a creative angle, and the pointilistic element does create something new. Maybe with a bit more subtlety, the impact could've been improved. And, again, it made me think, which I think is always an essential part of a good image...
wow this is so different..im not sure how you achieved this but this looks great..i love how you can just make out the face and the tones are nicely balanced..and the title is such a great choice. great job on this one Ant
