Thanks Michele . . . I had wanted the white daisys but Marlyce wanted the ruby slippers so . . . well . . . the rest is history . . . But the red is good too, I now think. (I did get SOME white ones too. :)

Excellent Doyle! Well worth a closer look. I'm amazed at how much pollen ends up spilling onto the petals. Great story and gorgeous colours mate. regards, Jonesy

To bee or not to bee.....corny I know! Couldn't resist!
Love this one, they are busy little things aren't they? This is really a nice series. I'm partial to the first one, but they are all stand alone images.
Good job on this BEE! Lori :)

Hi Doyle-
I love your bee series. I think I like this one the best, probably because of all the pink flowers! Nicely put together.

Hi Roger . . . Indeed they are pollen sacks. The busy bee gathers pollen, mixes it with saliva and packs it into hairs on his leg to carry back. Thanks for the comment!

Great use of the panorama view to show these three macros! My all-manual cameras don't let me follow a bee around like this... By the time I've focussed he is on his way. What are those orange gaiters on his legs? I've not seen those on our bees. Are they pollen sacks?

Thanks Markus - Since we live in an area that has Africanized honey bees, also known as "killer bees" I certainly prefer a bizeazza bee to a killer bee . . . get it? (busy-as-a) bee? Ok, it's only marginally funny . . . Thanks for the comments . . . I visited Austria in the late 60s and found it to be beautiful.

Winfried: Thanks for the comment. I was suprised to see you mention 'strange' colors since I didn't do anything with the colors . . . they seem so common to me since there are thousands of these little flowers all the way around the front of my yard. I have to keep in mind that what may be common here is not so everywhere!

This and the other two shots are great Doyle. This triple in particular is wonderful. I think you have done well and excercised great patience in following your subject around. This now tells me you don't use a tripod but were able to use a fairly high shutter speed. Something that I forgot to mention in the first comment about macro is the need to consider aperture very carefully. DOF, when shooting close up, is very narrow even when the lens is closed down. Take a look at Roberto Okamura's portfolio of insect macros....they are stunning..Enough from me...All the best my dear friend, happy hunting......Ray
