beautiful b&w floral, but it would be dishonest of me to say that it is perfect. unfortunately, the edges of all the outer petals are jagged, spoiling the image.
obviously, you were wanting to darken the background by making a selection around it, and that's ok, but to do this effectively you need to feather the selection. most photo editing software will have a help topic on this or you could look up some online tutorials on the web.
keep trying :)
