The odd-ball again, I like the movement of the wings.. it adds to your "climbing to the top" title.. I've been playing with capturing movement like that myself.
Thanks Andrew! I was laying on the cold wet ground in the shade shooting with 100 speed film in available light - I wanted the wings frozen but it wasn't happening. The butterfly was getting ready for takeoff, I was lucky to keep his body in focus. I've sort of grown to like the movement that the wings give the shot. I used my flash in some other shots but it bleached the grass out in the background.
Jerry, I like this photo because of the technical composition, exposure and the BG colour is fantastic, almost fluorescent green. I like macro stuff like you do. I think it was a shame you couldn't freeze the wings of the insect as you have some blur there. I do not know whether you wanted that effect or not. I find it hard enough coping with gentle wind breeze and flowers, let alone with animals. Very nice.
