Beautiful composition and you've captured the light and shadows perfectly.
One couldn't help but be inspired to draw, paint or write in a setting like this (although, I'm not quite sure what aspect would inspire a crime novel, but hey, artists are a weird mob). Haven't read the book, but I've seen the movie so going b&w for this shot feels appropriate. Nice work John.

Great image- the artists were lucky to have such a place! Really like the angle, perspective and lighting you have captured. It is particularly powerful in B&W.
