I really like the idea here a lot. The floor and table perfect, and the enigmatic black background and spotlight really work. I know it's taken in a theatre, but it really could be an unusual vision to a home.
Maybe it's because I'm a guitarist, but I think this photo goes some way to showing the quiet of the (temporary) detatchment of musician and intstrument. The photo feels still and at peace, yet somehow missing something because the player isn't there, because the instrument is unused, almost abandoned. Its lying on the table makes me wonder at the circumstances under which it was left there, and makes me think beyond the image itself and communicates your title... good job!
Obviously this being in a theatre, you had limited control over what you could photograph, but I think showing a little more of the guitar would be beneficial (if you were a little higher), or if the guitar's sides were not black like the background. Having it slightly hidden by facing away from the camera means it seems to lose some of its impact.
It's still worked for me, though - excellent photo!
