Hello Hugo, now I have t say sorry I suppose, but very busy with work and also busy with UF every day. If you want to give everybody a reply on their comments, and than look at their photo's and others as well, it takes 2 to 3 hours everyday at least. That time isn't always available when you need it.
I like your version very much, and I should try your suggestions some time. This weekend I 'll take a look and probably it will work. Thanks for having took the time to explain how it was done. I like especially the overexposed sky in my photo, which is blue now in yours, and the colours are more fresh looking.
Your version is much better than mine, I only did change the contrast a bit.
Cheers, and have a nice weekend,
Klaas

Hi Klaas, sorry for not replying sooner, Been rather busy, so thanks for the reminder too...;) Again, I think this is quite an improvement, but it does make the bleak sky more noticeable.
A quite fail safe workflow in basic tweaking of an image is to open the image, go to image > Adjust > Hue saturation, and tweak the individual colour levels one at a time. When you're satisfied, you could tweak the contrast, but I'd rather use the curves than the Brightness / contrast tools. That way, you can preserve more of the tone of the sky.
I already had a tweaked version of this photo lined up before I took a good look at yours. So per attached, the redundant image...:)
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Hugo,
I'm very glad you commenting one of my photo's again. Very much apreciated. When I posted it, I was thinking the same about the little pole that causes the distraction you menth. The haziness was indeed caused by the weathertype that day and maybe too because of taking this one half against the sunlight. You're right about the contrast too, but I'm not much of a PS worker, I take the picture, and that's it. Not a lot of PS work for me, but thanks to your advice maybe sometimes it's better indeed to do so. I took this photo again and worked on it like you adviced to do, and you're very right, a much better photo is born. I post this one with the comment and hope you wil judge this one and let me know what you think.
And yes Hugo, Holland is a wonderful country with lots of possibilities to take the most wonderful photo's. Thanks again for commenting this one, I really learn from it. (I hope)
Best regards, and Cheers to you too,
Klaas

Hi Klaas,
Well composed shot, and a typical Dutch scene I'd say. What puzzles me a bit is the thing in the lower right corner, it creates a bit of a distraction, taking away the attention from the field of dandelions, I believe.
The haziness is also something I wonder about. It does fit with the weather and time of day, but also reduces the impact of this shot, IMO. I doubt it fits with your style and intentions, but I think I would've attempted to up the contrast and tones a bit, if only to see if I could've revived the green glow of the fresh leafs on the tree too, to emphasise the spring feel. A personal thing.
Good shot, everytime I see one of those, I'm reminded I barely go out to shoot in Holland, and of how beautiful our country can be... Thanks!
Cheers,
hugo

I like the title "horse flowers" but I've never heard that Klaas. I only know dandelions really. But I will call them horse flowers from now on!

Thanks Mary, did you hear this name before or is this only known as dandelion? I'm very glad you like this one. Posted two now because I've donated something to UF. Sometimes I think you have to wait too long (23 hours) before you can post another. Take care,
Klaas

Thanks Doyle, nice to hear from you again, I'm donor now, so I added you to my friends list, then It's easyer for me to look more frequently. I think you're right with the overexposure. And about the size, that doesn't matter, when it's not to much, the UF site accept it and make it smaller. Sometimes probably 440, and then wouldn't accept so I have to start all over again. Take care,
Klaas

Beautiful picture of horse flowers Klaas! The angle of this and perspective I really like- stretches the eyes. Lovely colours and so natural.

PS: Your 'about' lists a file size of 436k . . . I thought that 400k was the limit for this site.

Nice touch Klaas . . . the overexposure of the sky really does help this image and the flowers, which are often considered weeds here, are actually quite pretty as you aptly show in this picture.

Funny, I photographed dandelions yesterday, however mine was only a small number of blooms. You found a huge amount. Well composed, image with good colors and details. The trees on the edges of the field are a great lead into the background.
