I love this photo, the only thing that matters is the lack of sharpness; unfortunately it was very windy again and light conditions were not the best yesterday morning
Hi Mireille, I tried it first with Shadow/highlight, but as that didn't create the desired effect (it darkens the fresh green tones too, as you say) I simply used the select colour tool, setting the threshold to 30, and added to the selection untill everything except the greens were selected. After that, I applied a small feather and I copied that selection onto a new layer, and set the layer mode to "multiply" - Then I reduced the blue tones a bit in hue / saturation. Fairly basic, actually...:)
Hi Hugo, Thanks a lot for your constructive comment! I tried desperately to emphasize the sky with the shadow/highlight tool in CS2. I got your sky but unfortunately with too much contrast on the tree and the meadow. How did you achieve this sky without changing anything on the tree/meadow, knowing that your result is much better than mine!? Cheers, Mireille
Hi mireille, Now I'm sure, these minimalistic landscapes are really your forte; Excellent compostion, and a very strong, somewhat dramatic atmosphere, yet preserving the crisp, fresh colours of the spring meadow - in that respect the softness fits well (or more precise, it doesn't really bother me, although it's noticeable) Very nice!
The only thing I can think of is to emphasise the threatening sky just a bit more - see attached image. Very good framing and presentation, too. Good stuff!
