Ti ringrazio per il gradito commento alla mia foto.
Riguardo alla lava, le cose stanno esattamente al contrario di quanto tu affermi.
La lava nuova è più scura (e nella foto si vede), invace la lava vecchia è più chiara.
Il fenomeno è dovuto alla lenta azione degli agenti atmosferici che lentamente mettono in luce i silicati presenti nella rocia e ossidano ed asportano le parti ferrose.

La lava di vecchia data me la ricordavo molto piu' scura, e forse in questa immagine non avrebbe guastato una sua tonalita' piu' incisiva. L'albero e' stato miracolosamente risparmiato dalla colata... (anni fa successe ad una statuetta della Madonna e si grido' al miracolo).
