About High contrast for those that like it.

I am submitting this image even though my last entry did not get the response I was hopping for.

This is simply an attempt to understand how or why master like Irving Penn or Minor White printed like they did, I would like thoughtful comments and suggestions that may help as I am doing this on my own. Thank you?

Orange cokin filter, Ilford delta 100 pro, D-76 (developed normal), Ilford Pearl. Printed with 4.5 filter.

you ask a great question about the masters printing styles... this image was posted a while ago and no one answered.. maybe they did not know what to say ... you have an excellent print here ... drama is part of the feeling... the fine printers you mentioned and many others print to emote feeling or emotion .. or to take "reality" and question it, add to it, alter it... and so much more ... i'm happy to see someone asking questions like you have here ... where are you in your thinking today .. this is a fine image... i hope you continue your exploring ..
