About Close encounters! Outside my bedroom window are ants enjoying my peony at approximately 3x macro. Using Panagor macro converter with the Nikkor macro lens and R1 flash. The true f/stop is about f/32. I got many interesting shots (and missed some) but will post only four in this series.

I have yet to understand the "gloating". I am very happy with Nikon optics and quality. Some of the Canon's I have seen are "plasticy".

Great composition here, Eb! I like the out of focus ant in the background giving the shot a rather surreal aspect.
