I too suspect the lens. The blue (and the yellow on the other side) seem to be the result of a chromatic abberation:

once more...note, the blue appears on a dark/ bright contact areas- seems to be a normal CA to me...see you!

Hi Peter, you got really close this time and it looks promising- the detail is amazing! but I think the blue distortion is not due to the light color, it seems to me it's a lens distortion you will not avoid at that huge magnification..hope I'm wrong and you can work it out! keep experimenting! best regards, Pawel

I'm trying out a new camera's SUPER Macro. This shot was less than an inch away from the subject. I was using a flourescent ring light which accounts for the Blue edge. I had the camera set to flourescent lighting. This is just and experiment.
Sorry for low quality, There is a learning curve with the new camera... But, it was interwsting how close I gould get...
