I'm glad that you posted this one. I remember reading about the Whoville being behind the motel on your first Bates Motel post. Those are some very strange neighbors for sure!

Yep Carlen . . . creepy indeed. Creepier that I didn't see the figure in the window until I had downloaded the RAW files!

I see your point Ray! Norman's not such a bad guy (unless you're a showering woman). Probably be good for a pint or two and a fishing trip . . . as long as it's ok with his mother. Now The GRINCH . . . that's something different altogether. Maybe we could hook him up with Norman's mother for a date!! :)

I already have looked through your portfolio but managed to miss that one. ;) Thanks a lot. I was thinking this must have been taken in California because I've been to Universal Studios in FL and didn't see the Bates Motel. Then I saw the location and went aha! Anyway I love the other photo of the hotel/house. The b/w tones definitely remind me of the movie. My first reaction was "omg there's someone in the window"! lol
I was lucky to catch a special on tv of Janet Leigh revisiting the shower and bathroom where she shot the infamous scene. Creepy!

Carlen: They actually build these this close together and just frame the camera angles to compensate when they film the movies. Of course, Whoville wasn't there when Psycho was filmed. Real Estate is valuable here so they save money by compacting it all together. They're close because Universal Studios filmed both. I did take a shot from the other end to crop out the Whoville distraction. I also toned it in B&W to give it the old feel of the movie. It's posted already. . http://www.usefilm.com/image/1126784.html . Feel free to thumb through the portfolio . . . you may find other gems. ;)

Hey Doyle, I was looking at this the other day and wondered why The Bates Motel would be near Whoville. Did you take any pictures of the Bates Motel by itself? Psycho still creeps me out and I never did manage to finish it all the way til the end.

Thanks Laura. Dr. Seuss buildings are always strange anyway . . . but to see them next door to the Bates Motel is just freaky!

I thought I recognised the house on the left! It is great to see the way they really are! More or less spooky I'm not sure!
