Oh heck I decided to come on in and tired or not I knew what I wanted to say. I like the photograph because the idea is unique and novel. I like the fun feel to the shot. I also got to thinking how could you get another emotion one with a bit of wonder behind it and a little moody. So I played a little M. Night Shyamalan with your photo. I hope you don't mind my playing with it and if you hate it I'm sorry it was just too much fun to work with.
My best,
Garold

Exciting and humerous shot. The area around the eyes is defocused and provides effective framing. It is a bit of puzzle because the closer bark is in focus as well as the distant eyes - but this does not detract from bringing a smile to the viewer!

I like this one, Cathy. Clever idea. Nice bright colour. The eye is sharp, which is the important part. Cheers, Ann.

Though funny but still a happy mood I got out of the photo..
Very nice texture of the wood and wonderful reflection in the eye.

Cathy this one is just not right somehow. I wonder if it's the focus bur it looks tremendous as a thumbnail I think the concept is great and if you can set it up again i would do so because all the ingredients are there. Sorry to be so negative and please try to take these comments as a help rather than a hindrence.

Following your comment I came to have a look, and found I had visited your portfolio yesterday but got distracted before I had a chance to comment! So let me compliment you on this unusual shot before I get dragged away again... A great concept.

This was taken as the sun was setting, very shallow depth of field, the face was in focus but the tree blurred so I painted over it from a previous image where the face was blurred but the tree was sharp. Used photoshop-I obviously need to do more work on it! Thankyou for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it. Cathy

I like this image a lot , the hot colors and the composition are wonderful, just luck the sharpness here and for the D2X much more is expected.

Great idea and very pleasant capture, wishing you all of the best my friend
