Thank you for commenting Sarah and especially for noticing the bad feathering along the sleeve,I can't imagine how I missed that;I'll have to rework it all over again before I print out!
Thanks again, Tony

Brilliant idea and image. The two seem to combine and yet be distinct in colours- wonderful.

I think the street continuing out of the painting like that is magic. The line from his sleeve to the painting a bit abrupt. Some feathering may have helped there... not that I recall ever getting feathering effects to work well myself... you've made the borders between the colour and black and white work in most other areas of the picture.

Excelente composición, con unos colores pastel muy bonitos. Yo me permití aclararla un poquito, pues la encuentro un poco oscura. Saludos

You have such a clever vision Tony. I love how you take a picture, which in and of itself is a work of art, and then make it even more special. I can see how some might think that the blur was not necessary, (it loses just a bit at the sleeve) but I can also see how it adds to the scene. Very, very clever!! Can't wait to see more!!!

I appreciate your comment John,I'll play around with a couple of other versions and see what I think.I quite like this version with the colour of the painting continuing up along the street to the domes of Sacreu Coeur. The artist's vision seemed to be very centered on this area and I felt it was right to blur out the rest a little. Thanks again, Tony

It's a really great idea, Tony, but in my opinion perhaps just a little overdone. I like the idea of the selective colouring on the painting, but would have left it at that, leaving the street behind in B&W. I'm also not sure that the blur (presumably post-processing) is necessary, as I think the selective colouring alone would be sufficient.

John
