About This is one of my first shots with my new teleconverter for my 50mm macro lens. It really lets you get up close and personal!
Until discovering photography I had no idea how beautiful the insides of flowers are. I've grown petunias for years and have never seen deep down inside!
Can you see a cheerleader with pom-poms photographed from above in this image? Or maybe a monkey with cymbals?
Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone in the USA. Be safe!

Very nice Susie,
It really is like looking at a whole new world, when you shoot macros. The thing is, everything you shoot has another life to it that is just plain over-looked by the natural eye.
Have fun with the new lens!

This is Really CLOSE Susie, me too always liked flowers, specially as gifts, but i admit i never felt their true beauty untill i started photographing them. wonderfull DOF for this photo. i would also suggest a symmetrical photo for the inside that shows the 4 POM-POMS :) equally around the green Cheerleader :) and the white ring around them with equal DOF, i think it will turn out good.

Before I read your About, I saw a person with a little hat, head bowed, holding two boquets of what flowers--maybe getting ready for a wedding. It is interesting how more aware of things we become when we start taking pictures. Great shot, Susie. Looks like you will have fun with your new lens.

I see a green headed cheerleader with blue pom-poms, though maybe it's a greenhat:):) Well done Susie....up close and personal puts floral photography into a different kind of genre....welcome to the super macro world sweetie.
Beautifully detailed with just enough dof to capture the main elements in this wonderful floral macro study. The colours and details are stunning....Well done to you my dear Susie.

Had a busy weekend so I'm on the catch-up trail.....again!! My very best wishes to you as always....Ray

Excellent, Sissy! I've never seen this inside a petunia either...it is very cool! I love the way you've framed this. Did you try a tiny, tiny black line around the outside? It's hard to see the texture because it blends into "Usefilm white." This could be front page material!
Kath
If that's a cheerleader she's wearing a very ugly green hat :)

I believe I'm a little late but happy birthdat and have an enjoyable day on the 4th.
Yes I can see all things inside the petunia but most of all I see the skill of a talented Photographer.
