Thank you for your detailed comments on my photos. It does help me understand what composition works and why it does. I really appreciate it.

Excellent image! I've never been able to capture these sitting still (but I was able to get them in flight - see my gallery), this shot really stands out because of the detail you've captured on the head and body, the DOF is just right. The wood that this dragon/damsel fly is on likewise complements the tone and composition. The green on the wood match this critter's colors. Very well seen.

I don't know the difference between a Dragon and Damsil fly. Whichever, your detail is fabulous. Your composition with him/her sitting on the complimentary coloured post and the background make this a great shot.
