Hi Markus,
I like the diagonal composition of the path, eventhough it kinda leads the eye out of the image pane. I think that element is very well compensated / countered by the excellent patches of light through the forest foliage. A great summer feel... Good shot!
Cheers,
hugo

Dear Rafi, I'm not at all bothered by your forwards. It's always good to hear more than one side. I was one week in Scotland and could see in BBC how onesided the reports about the war have been. The Austrian TV seems to be more objective. What I strongly believe is that in this conflict there are probably more than one thruths. I also believe that the liberation of three Israeli soldiers does not justify the loss of so many lifes in the meantime (on both sides). And I also strongly believe that peace can not be reached with violence (again on both sides). But I also see no solution on the horizon. A very sad situation and my thoughts and whishes are with you and your family.
Markus

I've already commented on this lovely, peaceful photo of yours, Markus. I hope you don't mind my forwarding to you all kinds of messages I receive on the Internet. I thank you for your very kind comment on my recent photo, but would like to add, apropos yours, that it's so peacefull in your corner of the world & so different from our corner. If I were to sit in such a wood, were it is to be found, mainly in the north of our country, I'd come under rocket fire. There's something else I'd like to add at the risk of hurting our friendship & I hope you'll not hold it against me. I do it because I'm afraid we're not always represented in foreign media the way we really are. I received it also on the Internet. So here goes: Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel's part for whatever reason, the following two sentences really say it all: If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews (us, Israeli) put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel. Best regards, Rafi

Great locale and an awesome use of color very well presented in a well composed scene of serenity. The interplay of light and shadow....the rutted road clearly not well traveled . . . and the use of perspective to pull the eye in. This is quality work my friend!

I look at the photo of you on your page & can't believe what I see. It's age regression at it's best (lol) I do like the deep green in your photo. It reminds me of days in Europe, when I was still a student. Thank you, Markus, for your kind comment on my photo & welcome home (?) Best regards, Rafi

The perspective is very good. Like everyone else I like how you show us the path converge to a point in the distance. I noted "waldviertel" but there's really not much hope of me learning German. I had a year studying it then forgot the entire thing. Markus, Thank you for the wonderful comment on my floral. Maybe I can make it look more like the old paintings.
