This works much better for me. It feels like feet wet in a moment lol

You lead the eye from ground level all the way into the air. This is truly beautiful vista.

Stunningly beautiful, Rob! A wonderful choice of composition with the foreground rocks and wavelets.

Thanks Rob - personally I think you are right about the polorizer. If the 5D has Velvia saturation levels then that is just 'guilding the lilly' as the saying goes. I've ridden a motorbike round the states and I know you certainly have some BIG blue skys and amazing vistas.

I look forward to seeing the landscape version

Jason...perhaps I shouldn't have used a Polarizer on it and the Canon 5D has the capability of shot saturating like that of Velvia film. But...if you ever get to see the place in person you'll realize just how unreal looking it is. The sky and lakes there are so unbelievable...well...that they are unbelievable. I made it look tall quite intentionally; that is what 16mm gets you on a full frame camera. I do have a wide format shot and will be posting that over the next several days...let me know what you think of that one. :) Thanks for looking and commenting!

Nice shot Rob - my only comments are that it is slightly spoilt by being oversaturated so that is (to me anyway) looks rather un-natural. It looks a bit 'tall' too -like maybe you could have got down a bit lower and squashed the middle a fraction though then you may have had a problem with the shadows from behind I guess.

Did you take any Landscape format ones of the same scene?

Looks like a place I'd like to visit certainly.

I have to say PERFECT also! whoo hoooo! the lines in the rocks send your eye right through that enormous distance to that one tiny peak way back there! love it!

WOW! Beautiful capture. Clouds are perfect and the colors boggle the mind they are so beautiful and the details are so crystal clear. Love the way you composed - your eyes starts at the middle front and just flow through the shot right to the mountain in the distance. Well done. Mom

Hi Rob,

Beautiful landscape! Love those colors - are you using a circular polarizer? I need to pick one up - although I know I won't get as amazing results as yours ;) Excellent work as always.

You've built a beautiful portfolio of all your landscape images that you have taken on your journeys around the country.

This image is just brillant.

Delicious colour! Superb composition (and you have not given us any info on shutter speed etc. As someone who knows nothing about creating works of art like this, I was hoping for some guidance.) That sky is brilliant. Cathy
