Simple single bolt of lightning hittin the suburbs. Shutter opened during inactive period, then closed after the bolt.. Helped to have that cable release, and having electrical activity without rain, was an added bonus!
There is nothing like seeing a full bolt cutting from the top to the bottom of the film frame on 120. Many i caught where half frame, but this one blew me away, being that it was the full hight of the 120 frame. Now given this was my first real dedicated attempt to shoot lightning, i was very impressed to have caught this single bolt. My next venture i shall endevour to have a better foreground/background, as this one is so bland.
certainly a nice capture, too bad the scan is poor. how nice to have this beautiful bolt in your frame though. I've used up a LOT of film trying to catch some lightning, and gotten back a lot of shots w/ little or no lightning
I have a print of this scan here on my wall, that is much sharper than this scan. Tho i did scan this using a friends scanner, i cannot say that his scanner is that brilliantly clean, so i could only do as best as i could given the equipment that i was using. I am still in the dream stages of purchasing a scanner to scan 120 film with, so for the meantime I shall have to be happy with what I have :)
