Yes, it is an extremely dry area, the rain was needed. The animals pictured are called Oryx and are part of the antelope family. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oryx

Another good shot under adverse conditions, Ed! I like all you animal photos, and it's nice to see one taken under more unusual lighting and weather than we've seen before.

I think rain is probably good for this area right ? I thnk these 2 are not wanting to be photographed. I was wondering what you call thse animals ? I don't think i have seen them before . ( sheltered life I know) Ha !
