I understand the importance of the eyes and all that. I don't use photoshop, so most of what you have said is foreign to me.

I appreciate you taking the time. Hopefully some day when I DO have photoshop I will be able to use your advice.

In the shot I uploaded the irises of the eyes are too "perfect" and look unnatural. By adding more of the reflection back in the shot looks more natural but still has enough of an iris to let viewers make the connection with the model.

Flawless make-up, Mel. Nice job, though the camera (head?) reflected in your eyes is a bit of a minor distraction.

If you have photoshop its pretty easy. First thing I did was use the clone stamp tool to put color back in the eyes where the reflection was covering it up. Then I created a new layer and painted the iris back in where it should be for one eye. I then copied that layer and pasted it on a new layer so both iris would be the same size. After I lined everything up I rotated the print a little to the right to make the eye line even. I left a little bit of the reflection in the eye because reflections are natural and it would look too fake without some in there. The thing to remember with eyes is that they are very powerful emotionally. If you want the viewer to connect with the subject it is important that they can see and connect with the eyes.

Hope that helps!

wonderful portrait here, the natural lighting effect is very impresive and so the reflections in the eyes, with all of that very saturated colors, all of the best my friend

Great shot with nice soft lighting. Now just photoshop the eyes to look natural and you've got an amazing shot.
