I just love this sort of photography. My opinion is that you should tone down the saturation of the background so that the single bloom may stand out more. See my attempt to show you what I mean. :) Andree

ciao Dino,
una foto da maestro, come sempre!
se proprio devo trovare un appunto è nella cornice, che mi sembra un po' pesante... ma forse è solo invidia..

Hi Dino, great shot, reminds me of Monet's "Poppy flower field", in which he uses an array of grey tones in combination with the reds. If you don't look closely, you'd say the grey looks green.

I like the shallow DoF, but, subjectively, it's also a bit too shallow, I think. Maybe, with a slightly wider DoF, the impact of this shot could've been boosted a little. Also, the crop along the lower edge seems a bit crude. Would it have been possible to use a more consistent green backdrop for the poppy in focus? Not easy I presume.

I'm only nitpicking here, it's a very good shot. I like it a lot.

Cheers,

Hugo

I love the brilliant color, but feel the back ground poppies are competing with the one sharp focused poppie.

Beautiful color saturation shown well in the shallow picture space. The black frame works very well.

Un piacere per gli occhi, Dino, questo tuo quadretto allegro, piacevole, d'effetto. Bella anche la composizione a V che aumenta la profondità.
Bravo c. s..
Ciao.

Dino, good mimal depth of field image. Clarity and color are there, IMHO I would crop the top about an inch down as I feel the orange is just a little too much for my eyes. This is my opinion only and through my eyes.
