Mavis, I didn't mean to negate your vision in terms of color, just trying to be helpful. Some of the novices here are looking for insight into why color reproduces the way it does - whether via type of film, what happens when processing with chemicals or digitally, or what can be altered in post processing and why. There is also a great deal of difference in an image viewed on screen and the printed image and I tend to aim for true color reproduction when printed, just my background. Obviously you are not a beginner and I applaud what you define as your rebel streak. I work with color all day and sometimes get too hung up in color curves, number values in the blacks and whites, color profiles and all that other technical stuff. I'm working on loosening up but even what I consider my attempts to be wild come out very stiff. Maybe I should have a Guinness or 2 and then go out shooting. As you know, I love the deep greens of Ireland and hope you will post a landscape now and then so I can relive happy memories. Slainte.

Great DOF and colors.Excellent capture .The lonely flaw to my eye is the color of the sky (but it's mother nature who decides!!!!) Friendly

I have a color-calibrated monitor and this one seems to be over-saturated - heavy on the green as the sky is turning yellow-blue and the fenceposts green. Fuji's tend to oversaturate because of their in-camera processing algorithms so it might be the camera, or too steep hue/saturation in Photoshop. I like the composition and is that one of those Magpies that are all over Ireland? I keep trying to photograph a cardinal at my birdfeeder but I swear he's psychic, he always flys away and I try to be so sneaky.

I love the compostiion and colors, the bird catch is a treasure. I think the foreground leaves are just a little close and seem to overwhelm the scene.
