About I was shooting a brochure for a bed and breakfast establishment, and whenever on a professional job, I always like to make one creative photo for myself. This image was shot through an outside window looking into the room. (Hence, it is slightly diffused.) I underexposed this image to give it an olde worlde feel. Only the edges have been softened in photoshop to add to the effect.

Szia. :)

szép napot neked és édesanyádnak is. :)

Erről meg azok a képeslapok jutottak eszembe, amiken pl. 1900-as évek elején készült képek láthatóak Budapestről... igazi régies hatás. Ha nem tudnám, hogy te készítetted, akkor rávágtam volna, hogy már vagy 100 éves. :) Remekül sikerült.
Gratulálok és szép napot!

This was but one room of many which the owners let out to tourists (not a hotel or motel... we call them "bed and breakfasts"). The buidings are not exactly modern, but not entirely antique in this particular establishment. They have been refurbished and nicely decorated. They need to be inviting and charming for guests to feel comfortable enough to wish to stay in, as there is much competition with similar lodgings in our tourist areas. Many bed and breakfasts.

I did not mean to spoil the "magick" for you... yes... "magick" is an old spelling sometimes still in use rather than the more common "magic" spelling of the word.

Currently my head is weary as it is rooster crow again... I am such a night owl! But I will be hapy to tell you more olde English words as they come to a less weary mind, Alex :)

For now, I must sleep...
Goodnight my friend!

You don't have to explain to me that the owners house was modern. Don't spoil the magic (or magick - is this the olde way of saying it?). Besides, i don't think that my paths will ever take me to Australia so that I could tell the owners that their house is olde fasioned. :)

Can you tell me a few other old english words?

Hehe, Alex... window sneaking! I wasn't really sneaking. I was on a job. The owners had no problem as I was photographing for a brochure to advertise their bed and breakfast accomodation. I only made this one image for myself. They did not mind. The room looks nothing like this really. I merely made it appear so... It is much brighter, and although the furnishings are antique, it still looks rather modern without shooting through the window and underexposing the transparency film I was using.

The spelling of "Olde Worlde" is the old fashioned English way of spelling it. It is still totally correct to say "old world", but it lacks the "romance".

Thank you for your kind comment, and I am pleased the image reminds you of the atmosphere of your grandmother's house. That is a charming thing for you to say.

:)

I love this image very much. Not only have you achieved the desired effect of an old house feeling (by the way "oldE worldE" is an australian expression or have I missed it out all this time?) but you have also reminded me of the atmosphere from my grandmother's house. Congratulations! So, window sneeking is good for at least one thing, isn't it?
