I don't like portraits and I don't like b&w photos, so I find your portfolio rather unactractive. This one is just superb, though, even for a simple taste like mine :) Beside the obvious beauty of the light, I like the arrangment of the benches, at an angle with the light and driving you into the picture. I find the people (?) in the background distracting: it would have been even more evocative if the man in the foreground was completely alone. A rare 7 from me

P.S. I miss your lovely Italy a lot. Tuscany always mades my heart beats faster...I had great experiences there. Beauty is all over the place.

Let me first say this is a well done photo. I likethe subject, the elegant composition, the choice of light. What doesn't work as wellis the fact that the man in the foreground is not in focus, neither is he fully out of focus. It just seems like he didn't quite get the attention he needed (photographically speaking) while you concentrated on the nice light from the window. On a shot like this I would have maybe opened up the exposure compensation one or two stops and shot a series of frames to capture the light rays. You say you had a long exposure, which may accouunt for the man's blurriness. With this much light, you may have also been able to open up your aperture and push your film (assuming you used film) to get the shutter to 1/30 or so which would have crisped up the figure of the man.
