Many many thanks, Amir, for your great comment!
I'll continue posting such city and street photos for a rather long time. I'm glad you like them!
Best wishes my friend,
Nick

Hi Annemette!
The thing about mathematics is, that you could still do mathematics, if you wake up in the morning and discover that the universe is... gone! ;-)
You need only your mind and perhaps some sheets of paper and a pen.
But now I understand what you mean with "male joke". Well, no, I really can't blame you! It was a rather cryptic title, and I can see that I should perhaps add some more explanations in the "about" box.
The strangest mysteries are only a piece of cake (;-)) if described adequately!
Take care Annemette!
Nick

I do love how you make math so much more interesting and easy to understand by means of using the world around you. Thank you! A male joke? I´m not good at telling, not even remembering jokes, but I do know that males and females don´t always understand jokes in the same way or find them amausing at all. "Dirty X-Y-Z" Can you blame me for thinking that it was a joke only understood by men??;-)) Take care, Annemette

Hi Annemette!
It is a reference to cartesian coordinate system, as the attached drawing tries to explain. Three axes standing perpendicular to each other, defining a space. And the space on the photo is the old dusty and dirty backstage environment in Lucerne. A small parodic tribute to that science, that doesn't need any expensive laboratories, but is able to shine in the most unusual places. Bring us some paper and some pencils, that's all we need.
So let's remember all the guys that brought us so much light without any need for big money, big ego, and big reputation. Today I think of that remarkable human being, Paul Erdös, who once said: "Property is a nuisance" - and also lived this way.
Dear Annemette, still I don't know what a "male joke" is. A joke has no gender, or am I mistaken here?
Take care my viking maid! Nick

Dear Nick Is the title referring to a male joke of some kind?:-) Or is a mathematical joke? I do see the lines in the photo forming different shapes! All the best to you, Annemette
