I have seen hundreds upon hundreds of simply outstanding photo's on this site without even a comment. It seems if you submit a nude female or an oversaturated landscape you get many comments and looks. Sometimes I think its just a populartity contest.
As for my shot, you might not like it and thats OK with me.Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Hi Gene,

I'm afraid I have to agree with Anna on this. The scene has potential, but the tonal range and composiiton are so - so. And besides the tilt in the horizon, I don't really see the fit with the project either. It has quite a strong atmosphere, but more moody and ominous than one would expect for the Peace and Tranquility project.

I do like the diagonal line leading the eye from lower right to upper left, and in essence it's a good shot. It just needs a bit more care in postprocessing and presentation, IMO.

Cheers,

hugo

How did this get BIP so fast? It's still on the first page...also, it said it was uploaded on Sept. 10th, but today is the 9th. I suppose it is the 10th somewhere in the world...

Also, when does the staff decide on BIP, SC, EC, etc?
In regards to this photo, it is nice (I don't want to be mean) but I have seen better landscapes that have not gotten BIP.
