I really like the texture available at the ends of these little glass blocks. I wonder if you could do something where you shot the ends, illuminated from the other ends, maybe in a herringbone pattern:

Normally the herringbone would be done flat, but if you do it using the ends that unusual texture and the green color will really (I hope) be rewarding.
Anyway, food for thought.

Very nice DOF demonstration. Excellent glassy colours and detail. The perspective is very well achieved.
