About This old disused mine was one of many on display as an attraction to Broken Hill in far western New South Wales.
The mines were the primary source of income for Broken Hill Proprietry Ltd (BHP) inc 1895, later 1915 went into STEEL MANUFACTURING and 1960's into PETROLEUM Exploration. Today, after merging with Billiton are the worlds LARGEST MINING Co.

Very interesting image JD . The colors and textures of the wooden structures look original and not too strong. I Especially enjoyed the history about it. Personally under-ground is not for me , but I do enjoy viewing the images !

Just after I took this pic. the guide turned off his head torch and asked us to do the same...
there was some very frightened people down there..
