About Grandmother teaching young child to read. This image has been featured on calendars and in diaries. Although the grandmother was aware of the camera, I call this a candid shot as the child is totally unaware of me. Possibly a little overblown as I had to use available light (which was obviously backlight) and I didn't want to change the "reality" of this shot too much when I worked it in the (physical) darkroom.

Thank you so much Bill!

I have not been in for so long.... very busy at work.

This is actually a photograph of my mother with one of her grandchildren.

Thank you for your kind comments.

I am running as usual between sites... I do hope to be able to spend more time here in UF soon!!!

Warmest Regards,
Aniko :)

Thanks Paul!

Yeah, I could have "fixed" the blown out cheek in PS, but decided against it.

Warm appreciation on your kind comments.

yeah, the grandmother's cheek is blown out, but the central focus is that adorable child's face! Nice job, Ani.

The composition is endearing and full of warmth. I like the B&W format! For me it was my Mother who did just the same.
Best regards,
Gabriela
