Although I rarely use a digital camera, I still relate to what you are saying. No one wants to miss shots like this!!! :)

I still feel this is a very beautiful shot and congratulate you on it again!

Warm Wishes my Friend,
Aniko :)

Thank you so much John and Tami. I appreciate your remarks very much having seen your work (which is certainly not beginnerish). I like to work with the solid black background. Earlier on before I used it, I found myself annoyed with the peripheral distractions that accompanied the images. It was a great investment in the end getting it. However, I need to invest in something different - i.e. like white. Not very original I know but it sometimes does the trick.

Amar....

All we can say, is Ole!!!

Wonderful capture of action and movement by this dancer who is so into her art.

Your black and white image allows the focus to be on the movement, rather than the peripheral distractions that might normally be percieved.

Just a beautiful photograph, Amar!

Warm Regards,

John & Tami E. {(}-:] + (<:&

Dear Aniko: Thank you friend. Actually this wasn't at a live show, but space was still tight when I shot this. I did manage to take other images which got her full body, skirt and all in - but for some reason, I was drawn to this. Also when I was shooting, as you know too, you can't always stop to look at your LCD screen after each shot(and if you do you're likely to miss other shots). Cheers my friend.

Dear Amar:

I agree with Rebecca... the full skirt and perhaps a little more space above this dancer's head would have added to this fantastic image. I also understand that when at a live show, it is often the situation of snatch and grab as best you can when you can!!! Limited space can be a problem. I have shot a lot of stage work and understand fully.

This is a delightful images and most appealing to me!!!

Keep posting your wonderful images, my friend!

Warm Wishes,
Aniko :)

This is a very artistic image. My only question would be, why don't you have more photos to show. You obviously have a good eye for photography.

Nicely shot. Good use of (partial) subject motion. Your lighting worked out real well. The photograph could probably benefit from some additional real estate on the right hand side, but all in all it works quite well. Welcome aboard.

Thank you so much for your comments and feedback. Although the image was shot in more in a studio setting than on stage, when I shoot these dance images in studio, I do like to simulate to the extent possible a stage like or theatrical moment. So indeed, I am happy that the composition accentuates that goal. I had a chance to visit your portfolio quickly yesterday, but I will make sure to visit again and look at it more thoroughly. Cheers. :-)

I don't think it makes a difference whether you show the whole skirt or part of it cut off! It is an incredible photograph, captivating the way she emerges from the darkness, the way you were able to show the motion of the skirt, the perfect tones and exposure. I actually like the skirt being cut off because with the dark background, she looks like she is entering into the frame from the right side, heading out toward the left. That emphasizes the action shot that this is. This photo is just perfect perfect perfect to me! Fantastic work!

Great Amar, as I said I really like the idea of this and the shot as it is is still very good even without the whole skirt!!! I will keep an eye out for the others as I am interested to see thwm.
Cheers, R

Rebecca, thanks for your comment. I agree about seeing her skirt in full. The space in which I shot this allowed me little room and unfortunately I just didn't catch it all. However, I am sure I have other images of hers where the skirt was fully captured and I will likely in include it. Thanks for your comment.

Amar this is really nice...I would have liked to have seen her skirt in full and a little more space above her head, but the tones are fantastic and the sense of movement really well captured. Great idea, cheers, R:)
