Spent the long weekend biking in Kamloops. It was our first decent outing with the new bikes we got over the winter. Brandi's new 'Launch' is making it harder and harder for me to keep ahead of her and get shots like this on the trailside :P
Thanks very much for the compliments and suggestions. Ken: Unfortunately, this is the uncropped frame already. No room to expand on the left at all. Exposure was a bit tricky as I metered while she was approaching me, but she was in broken shadow when the shot was taken. C'est la vie.
IMHO a great deal of detail has been lost because the photo is so dark. Would also suggest recropping. A lot tighter on the right side with more "space' to the left so the bike/rider have somewhere to go. The tight crop appears to "confine" the rider in what should be a wide open room to go scene.
WOW, gettin' rowdy on the mtn. bikes! Great action shot! To answer your question about big air, I was panning, and I put the sequence together in PS. I'll definately be doing more of this next season, hopefully with better light. Again, love both the biking shots, very well done!
