Martin Scorsese talks about writing a story or film about what you know. I've bowled for a very long time and spent a lot of time in bowling alleys. The bowling ball and the pin just reminded me of middle America in a way. If you have ever watched Bugs Bunny the wolf and the sheep dog, they are enemies as long as they are on the clock and then break time they chat like good friends. Saw aspects of that relationship in the pin and ball, along with the forbidden love thing too. I kept on thinking how pins are treated almost an abusive relationship to some degree, so I thought I would do nice by her.
