About Astride the ridge of Stac Pollaidh a very fine Scottish mountain with a volcanic appearance I was treated to splendid views across the Inverpolly reseve and Cul Mor. I particularly liked the differential contrast between foreground and background bought about by distance inducing haze. Stac Pollaidh is not particularrly high and can be accessed from the base car park in less than an hour, though the ascent seems impossible it is actually quite an innocuous climb and I have seen children at the summit.

Nice composition and dof, even the shaded area has some detail. Not overly saturated either, nice job

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Fabulous shot. Makes this mountain look really wild and high. Nice perspective with foreground and background. The shadow on the foreground really helps it stand out.

Isn't it strange how perspective affects out view? I understand that Stac Pollaidh is about 600m high - a mere hill - but it looks like a really high mountain here. Compare this with the hills above my home in Tarifa, which are actually over 800m high but really do look like hills...

What an outstanding landscape! It is almost like 2 images with the foreground dark and crisp against the lighter haze of the background. I like the composition with a diagonal dividng the two. The depth of field in this work is quite amazing. I admire anyone who manages to capture landscapes so well. CC
