That's pretty much my process too Fadel. I use Rawshooter for most of my conversions.

Hi Richard, right now and for my purposes I just rely on the RAW conversion to correct white balance and exposure and get the image in 16bit into Photoshop (in tiff format). The RAW converter that came with the camera doesn't do selective adjustments with masks (e.g. burning and dodging) and I do that a lot, I'm not sure if any of the RAW converters available can do that, but I think its an important feature unless you can control the lighting of your scene.

Hi Fadel, thanks for the comment. I like both, but yours does seem to be a bit punchier. Tell me, would you normally make that adjustment in RAW, or later in Photoshop? I am just beginning to work from RAW files.

Very beautiful angle and composition Richard. I like the low contrast which gives a gloomy feel. If you don't mind I thought to try increasing it to see how it would look like with full tonal range, I think each has it's flavor, let me know what you think about the attached.

Thanks Gary. This is my first raw conversion and it might be a bit over-sharpened. Lots to learn.

A bleak image, peace and tranquility don't come to mind for me. Nevertheless, it has a certain cold, hard, anonymous feel about it which I quite like.
Regards, Gary
