Montreal's Underground City - a chain of connecting tunnels, malls, shopping arcades and yes, metro stations. Shot from above, with my camera resting on a railing (again pillowed on my scarf in the absence of a tripod). A little seletive desat. Aperture and shutter speed... just guessing.
Thanks, Andre - yes, I think that makes sense, excepting of course for those time when blur is just... blur (bad focusing, camera shake, whatever). Positioning works too(eg., a skateboarder in mid-air, but otherwise clear).
Hi Jon, I really like your experimenting with the slow shutter speeds. I remember commenting to another friend here at Usefilm about this kind of blur in an image. I said something like... The slight blur of people and objects in an image, caught in fleeting movement, while other non moving objects stay crisp, brings an additional vitality and life to an image. For me these images capture and emphasis a moment in time for just a little longer than an all crisp, focused image does. Does that make sense? Andre
